Artistic Journey: Joanna Musiał-Janicka
I take my camera and step outside. I head towards the nearby city park. My mind is in chaos, overwhelmed with well-known overthinking.
But I know the solution.
I stop by an unassuming little bush, bathed in the morning sun. I lift the camera to my right eye and close my left. Limiting my field of view to the lens, I focus on what my open eye sees. The camera is my tool for focus—both of my attention and my thoughts. At the same time, with my closed eye, I look within myself.
“When I photograph, I see the world with one eye open and look deep inside myself with the other closed.”
/ Henri Cartier-Bresson /
I see my tangled thoughts finding their ‘reflection’ in the tangle of dry branches—while at the same time, they magically begin to untangle and arrange themselves, bringing my emotions into harmony. The birdsong, the rustle of the wind, and the warming rays of the sun on my skin intensify the experience. All I feel now is peace, relief, and a deep connection with my intuition that nature brings me. There, I find solutions.
And I want to share these feelings with you.
I capture the beauty of the World. Whatever moves my heart and soul—especially the beauty of Nature.
This time, drawn in by an unassuming little bush, I carefully observed the chaos of its dry branches. What I see through my lens seems almost unreal.
But are these photographs really so unrealistic…?
Maybe, instead of tangled branches, you will see—just like I did—Hope emerging from the entanglement of fate and the shadows… of Life itself. Those rays of light, boldly breaking through, carry a clear message: there is always a way, there is always hope!
It is therapeutic.
Liberating.
It allows me to step back, see things from a different perspective, look within, and smile at my own thoughts—simply because I am here, in the now.
Just as authentic as these humble branches—raw, natural, real.
For the second time, when I engage with these masterpieces of Nature, I sit in front of my computer and, with the same attentiveness, observe what the image wants to convey. I intuitively move a few sliders in my editing software, trying to bring out what is already there. For the second time, I get to recall these positive emotions through photography. I can return to them. No AI tricks, no Photoshop effects. Wow! How beautiful is that?
And then, for the third time—when the finished, printed, and framed image finally hangs on the wall, allowing me to rediscover its message over and over again…
Maybe you will treat my photographs as an invitation and a reason to look within yourself and find your own answers? Maybe you will want to use mine? I found them there…
Stillness.
Meditation.
Peace.
Rest.
I do not interpret—I admire, observe, and marvel.
I simply enjoy the fact that I am.
Gratitude fills me.
Listening to my intuition.
I capture, I record.
Discover, grow.
In every aspect—in both the micro and the macro. Close to home—in the quiet and ordinary city park—and in distant, extraordinary places while traveling. Because the world has so much to offer!
Just like us—full of tangled stories, shadows, but also light and hope.
This is simply the art of admiring the World.
Awe for the World and what we can discover in it—including within ourselves.
Art supporting peace of your mind and soul.
This is my Art of living.
An Art of Nature.
You are an Art!
Just pause. The World is where You Choose to Stop.
Now, I invite you to discover yourself in my works—and add your own story to them.
Are you ready?
It’s enough to stop, look, and feel gratitude and joy for being able to exist in such a beautiful World – and to give it our attention and mindfulness. It’s really such a small thing, yet it changes so much. It shifts perspective, brings peace and lightness.
Photography gives me that gift – and I want to share these feelings with the World.
Artistic Journey: my Story
My journey began in the days of analog photography when, as a teenager, I would take my camera on school trips to capture shared moments. To this day, I look at those photos with fondness. I still have pictures of my dog, sitting patiently in a blooming meadow as I took his portrait. I also experimented with still life photography, arranging everyday objects and trinkets from around the house into small compositions. Those years taught me not only mindfulness but also reflection in the creative process and the ability to be fully present in the moment. There was no built-in light meter, no memory card with unlimited space – every shot required thought, patience, and an understanding of light.
When my son was born, photography took on a whole new meaning. The moments I captured became increasingly precious – and their value only grew with time. As my collection of family memories expanded, so did my passion, until I finally decided to turn it into something more. Since 2019, I have been photographing families, helping them preserve their beautiful, carefree, and intimate moments together. (You can see these stories here: byjmj.pl).
Privately, I’m a happy wife and mother (but you probably already guessed that). Beyond photography, I have a deep fascination with psychology and personal growth. I also love getting lost in a good book, finding both inspiration and joy in its pages. Traveling and exploring the world is my passion—naturally, always with my camera by my side.

My mision, my intention, my ‘WHY’?
My intention is that those, who look at my work, are able to pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and with greater strength – thanks to this brief meditation – return to their everyday life.

7 September 2025 I received the “Local Product” Certificate of the Duchy of Lakes and Mountains of Nysa —
— an official recognition that honors my creative journey and confirms the authenticity and unique character of my work, deeply rooted in the spirit of my home region, Nysa.

Collections: The “Hope” and “Mindfulness (by the Tree)” were created entirely in the City Park in Nysa — just 200 meters from my home.

Ongoing Artistic Growth
Photography, for me, is not just a profession — it’s a continuous journey of growth and sensitivity. I regularly participate in courses and programs that help me expand my perspective, refine my craft, and experience the world with greater attentiveness. I don’t pursue these experiences to collect certificates — I pursue them to see more deeply, feel more intensely, and create more consciously.
The certificates shown below are selected examples of completed courses and programs — they do not represent every learning experience I have undertaken. My studies cover many aspects of photography, from business and family sessions to post-processing and creative exploration — all the elements that make up my passions. Many lessons also come from books I’ve read, insightful conversations with experts, and the daily practice of mindful observation.
