At first glance, the image appears almost entirely abstract. Warm sandy tones meet cool blue and scattered flashes of light, creating a composition of texture, colour and light. Only upon closer observation does the subject begin to reveal itself: earth meeting water, sand meeting frozen lake.

The photograph had remained in the artist’s archive for some time. Found again while searching for another image, it suddenly demanded attention.

Maybe we were different back then?

This poster print offers an accessible way to bring contemporary nature photography into an everyday environment. Rather than conventional mass-market decor, it introduces an image with a distinct visual character – open to interpretation and designed to reward a closer look.

In harmony with the Artist’s intention, the image is an invitation to pause, notice and discover another perspective within something familiar.

The photograph was featured in “Another Worlds / Inne Światy,” an exhibition and performance by Wrocławska Loża Fotograficzna, presented in Wrocław in 2026.

This photograph was born from lightness: intuition, playful experimentation with light, and the quiet joy that accompanied the artist during a walk in a nearby city park. Twisted branches and bursts of light created their own story.

As a result, embroidering stitches on a print of a photograph is a continuation of it – a gesture of freedom and joy in creation. A movement beyond the image.

Using luminous thread, the artist follows the natural flow of light already present in the scene. The embroidery highlights its direction, structure, and rhythm, without altering the image itself. In this way it gently reveals what was already there.

It is a visual meditation – mindfulness, expanded into material form.

For the artist, light is a symbol of goodness, truth, faith, hope, and wonder – as well as the inner spark within. This is what she chose to highlight in this project  [read more about ‘Embroidered Light’ philosophy].

‘Embroidered Light | Hope & Freedom’ is a one-of-a-kind piece, manually finished by the artist, showcasing an original photograph enhanced with hand embroidery.

Hand embroidery is applied directly onto the fine art print using luminous metallic thread. Hand-applied acrylic silver dots complement the embroidery, adding extra shimmer and depth. Moreover, each stitch is placed individually, following the intuitive rhythm of light. No two works are identical; therefore, this piece will not be recreated.

This photograph was born from lightness: intuition, playful experimentation with light, and the pure joy that accompanied the artist during a walk in a nearby city park. Twisted branches and bursts of light created their own story.
It is a tale of freedom in creation — of allowing oneself to experiment with colors, to break rules of form, and to follow light spontaneously. Without expectations, only with the joy of creating that arises when the artist follows her impulse. Of the purity of the process, which leads where the heart wants to go — into a space where creation flows effortlessly, and interpretation remains open like a breath.

Freedom of choice. Lightness. Breath. Being. Joy.

It is a visual meditation — about lightness, mindfulness, and the soothing clarity of simply being. In full alignment with the Artist’s intention of pausing and finding hope in simple beauty.

Immersed in nature, the artist found peace, balance, and calm—a quiet refuge from everyday noise. She returned to this particular tree many times. During different seasons and under changing light conditions to capture the fleeting, authentic essence of a single, mindful moment. This is how a series of photographs was created.

This image features dry blossoms reaching toward a softly glowing sky in tones of light beige and gentle blue. The blossoms reveal their natural structure and quiet grace, standing calmly against the luminous backdrop of sky and light. The tree, nestled among others at the edge of a nearby urban park, often goes unnoticed by passersby, yet it holds quiet beauty for those who stop to notice.

Composed in warm beige and airy blue hues, “Mindfulness in Blue” brings an element of lightness and calm elegance to your space. The interplay of subtle earth tones with soft sky colors creates a tranquil, almost meditative atmosphere. Turning this frame into a visual mindfulness experience focused on nature’s silent beauty. Gentle textures and warm light invite the viewer to slow down and find small wonders in simplicity.

Seagulls circling above add energy and lightness, soaring on the sea breeze. This view moved Joanna, filling her with peace and reminding her of the immense beauty hidden in simplicity and moments of stillness. How fortunate we are to enjoy the abundance that Life bestows upon us.

Inspired by a moment full of magic and wonder, “Abundance of Fairy Tales” is a photograph that takes us into a world of fairy tales and childlike innocence. Captured by Joanna Musiał-Janicka during her journey to the Baltic Sea. The scene depicts the silhouette of a boy feeding seagulls at sunset. This boy is the artist’s son, whose gestures, full of simplicity and joy, caught the attention of passersby.

A woman passing by, enchanted by the view, remarked: “Oh! Just like The Little Prince!” And indeed, the scene evokes moments from Saint-Exupéry’s book, where the simplicity and beauty of everyday life take on a deeper meaning.

Children are mindful, present in the moment of play, which aligns perfectly with the philosophy of the artist.
