The artist created this photograph in a personal moment of connection with the camera and nature. Deep, dark tones create a contemplative atmosphere, while a vivid yellow circle emerges from the shadows like a ray of hope, illuminating the delicate forms of dried branches.

The abstract composition and natural textures also invite us to look beyond the image itself and notice the light within.

In this way, embroidering stitches on a photographic print continues this story – a gesture of freedom and joy in creation. A movement beyond the image.

Using luminous thread, the artist follows the natural flow of light already present in the scene. The embroidery highlights its direction, structure, and rhythm, without altering the original photograph. In this way, it gently reveals what was already there.

It is a visual meditation – mindfulness expanded into material form.

For the artist, light is, above all, a symbol of goodness, truth, faith, hope, and wonder, as well as the inner spark we all carry within. Through the ‘Embroidered Light’ project, Joanna chose to highlight these meanings and invite us to notice the light around us and within ourselves.

This photograph was born from lightness: intuition, playful experimentation with light, and the quiet joy that accompanied the artist during a walk in a nearby city park. Twisted branches and bursts of light told their own story, inspired by a single tree visited throughout this ongoing project ‘Mindfulness‘ since 11/01/2024, under varying weather, seasons, and light conditions.

As a result, embroidering stitches on a print of a photograph is a continuation of light itself – a gesture of freedom and joy in creation. A movement beyond the image.

This photograph was born from lightness: intuition, playful experimentation with light, and the pure joy that accompanied the artist during a walk in a nearby city park. Twisted branches and bursts of light created their own story.
It is a tale of freedom in creation — of allowing oneself to experiment with colors, to break rules of form, and to follow light spontaneously. Without expectations, only with the joy of creating that arises when the artist follows her impulse. Of the purity of the process, which leads where the heart wants to go — into a space where creation flows effortlessly, and interpretation remains open like a breath.

Freedom of choice. Lightness. Breath. Being. Joy.

It is a visual meditation — about lightness, mindfulness, and the soothing clarity of simply being. In full alignment with the Artist’s intention of pausing and finding hope in simple beauty.

Inspired by a moment full of magic and wonder, “Abundance of Fairy Tales” is a photograph that takes us into a world of fairy tales and childlike innocence. Captured by Joanna Musiał-Janicka during her journey to the Baltic Sea. The scene depicts the silhouette of a boy feeding seagulls at sunset. This boy is the artist’s son, whose gestures, full of simplicity and joy, caught the attention of passersby.

A woman passing by, enchanted by the view, remarked: “Oh! Just like The Little Prince!” And indeed, the scene evokes moments from Saint-Exupéry’s book, where the simplicity and beauty of everyday life take on a deeper meaning.

The deep oranges and navy blues of the sky create a magical backdrop that enhances the scene. Seagulls soaring in the air glide on the sea breeze, adding a sense of ephemerality, lightness, and harmony to the moment.

“Abundance of Fairy Tales” is not just an image but also a story of abundance. An abundance of emotions, memories, and beauty hidden in the simplest moments of life. This piece invites reflection on how much we can see when we pause for a moment and look at the world through the eyes of a child. Children are mindful, present in the moment of play, which aligns perfectly with the philosophy of the artist.

Soft muted blue and delicate greyish-brown tones blend into an atmospheric composition, creating a feeling of inner calm and balance.

This is the most personal photograph in the entire “Hope” collection.

It was during the creation of this piece that the artist deeply felt she was on the right path. That after a long journey – both in photography and in personal growth – everything was finally beginning to align.

Now, as she presents this work for online sale, she asked herself: why wasn’t this photo, which started the entire series, shown first? The answer came naturally. Because of how personal it is. To share it with the world is like laying her entire inner world bare for all to see, while stepping out of her comfort zone.

Interestingly, the photo came to life almost “by accident”. During a walk in a nearby city park on January 11, 2021, meant only to bring a moment of relaxation, not a new beginning. It was supposed to be just one of many photos taken for pure pleasure… But the artist doesn’t believe in coincidences – rather in the small miracles that happen when we keep moving. Sometimes slowly, one tiny step at a time. It’s a process. She didn’t yet know it was the beginning of something new, but her intuition whispered that this was the direction she wanted to follow.

The image, the thoughts, the emotions – everything was in harmony. Calm, silence, relief, sensitivity, emotion, gratitude, simplicity…

From the very beginning, all Joanna’s Musiał-Janicka macro photographs were made only “for the drawer” – to quiet the noise of thoughts, to bring peace, for the pure joy of creating. But the feelings they carried were so good, so strong… that there’s enough of them to share with everyone.

So, the artist decided to share them. To expand her inner boundaries. To step out of her comfort zone. Because without that, there is no New Way.

In full alignment with the Artist’s philosophy of pausing and finding hope in simple beauty.
