This photograph was born from lightness: intuition, playful experimentation with light, and the quiet joy that accompanied the artist during a walk in a nearby city park. Twisted branches and bursts of light told their own story, inspired by a single tree visited throughout this ongoing project ‘Mindfulness‘ since 11/01/2024, under varying weather, seasons, and light conditions.

As a result, embroidering stitches on a print of a photograph is a continuation of light itself – a gesture of freedom and joy in creation. A movement beyond the image.

Using luminous thread, the artist follows the natural flow of light already present in the scene. The embroidery highlights its direction, structure, and rhythm, without altering the image itself. In this way it gently reveals what was already there.

It is a visual meditation – mindfulness, expanded into material form.

The nearly translucent skeleton of a hydrangea petal — torn from its plant and likely carried by the swollen river during the flood in September 2024, which swept through Nysa Park — has unexpectedly lodged itself on the dried fruits of a tree.
